Installio Ltd — Carbon Reduction Plan
Introduction and commitment to Net Zero
Installio Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our UK operations by 2040 — ten years ahead of the UK's statutory 2050 target. As a technology-led clean-energy installer, decarbonisation is core to our purpose: our day-to-day work removes fossil-fuel heating from homes and installs low-carbon heat, solar generation and battery storage. We hold ourselves to the same standard internally, and this Carbon Reduction Plan sets out how we measure, manage and reduce the emissions arising from our own activities.
This Plan has been prepared in accordance with PPN 006 (formerly PPN 06/21) and the associated reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans, and the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.
Baseline emissions footprint
Baseline emissions are the reference point against which we measure progress. Our baseline reporting year is 1 October 2024 – 30 September 2025.
Methodology and basis of reporting. Emissions were calculated using the UK Government 2024 greenhouse gas conversion factors and the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, applying a consistent 12-month reporting period (1 October 2024 – 30 September 2025) across all scopes. Our reporting boundary comprises a single, electrically heated central London headquarters (approximately 20,000 kWh of grid electricity per year), a fleet of eight petrol vans and 25 staff. Scope 1 reflects petrol consumption across our eight petrol vans, using a conservative activity-based estimate to allow for higher annual mileage across installer and survey vehicles. Scope 3 covers the five required categories - upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, employee commuting, and downstream transportation and distribution. Where primary data was not yet available, figures were estimated using established activity-based assumptions, and will be refined as metering and vehicle telematics data is collected for future annual updates.
Emissions reduction targets
To support our Net Zero commitment, we are setting the following science-aligned trajectory:
- Interim target: reduce total emissions by 50% against baseline by 2030.
- Long-term target: achieve Net Zero by 2040, with residual emissions addressed through verified offsetting only as a last resort.
We will report progress against these targets annually in updates to this Plan.
Carbon reduction projects
Measures already in place
- Digital-first, paperless operations. Our operations management system (OMS), Engineer Co-Pilot app and SafetyCulture remove the need for printed job packs, surveys and certificates across the business.
- Fleet managed for efficient deployment. Our eight petrol vans are allocated and scheduled to minimise unnecessary mileage while we prepare for future electrification.
- Waste recycling and take-back. We recycle operational and packaging waste and use manufacturer take-back arrangements for decommissioned equipment where available.
- Low-carbon core activity. Every installation we complete displaces fossil-fuel heating or grid-only electricity, contributing to wider emissions reduction.
Measures planned over the framework lifetime
- Transition the petrol fleet to electric, phasing out petrol vans as leases renew and installing workplace EV charging.
- Route and scheduling optimisation within our OMS to reduce unnecessary engineer mileage between sites.
- Supply-chain engagement, prioritising manufacturers and merchants with their own credible carbon reduction commitments and consolidating deliveries to cut transport emissions.
- Staff training on environmental best practice and the Council's Net Zero objectives, embedded in our onboarding.
- Annual measurement and reporting of our footprint to track performance against the targets above.
Declaration and sign-off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 (formerly PPN 06/21) and the associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans, using the appropriate UK Government emission conversion factors for the reporting period, and the GHG Reporting Protocol Corporate Standard.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the required standard for the reporting of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, and the selected subset of Scope 3 emissions described above.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body) of Installio Ltd.
