Vaillant heat pump install in St Albans, Hertfordshire

The Installio team has just fitted a heat pump in a 3 bed semi detached house in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

The customer wanted to get of Oil and switch to a hyper-efficient heat pump system.

The job included a new air source heat pump, a replacement hot water cylinder, modern heating controls and upgrading undersized radiators.

Technical specification

The team retrofitted the heat pump to the home’s existing heating system. That means installing new components to the existing pipework and keeping the radiators where possible. Upgraded radiators are added to make sure the heat pump runs really efficiently, while guaranteeing the home will still be warm in the depths of winter.

The Vaillant aroTHERM Plus is a firm-favourite. It’s one of the most efficient heat pumps on the market. It’s easy to use and it’s quiet. And because the aroTHERM Plus uses the latest natural refrigerant, known as R290, it can operate at high temperatures if needed and is considered more eco-friendly.

A new unvented cylinder will provide the customer with a generous supply of hot water at a consistent high pressure. Unvented cylinders are used with heat pumps because they store water efficiently This cylinder is specifically designed to work with a heat pump. A larger heating coil allows heat exchange to work really well at lower temperatures. Hot water will produced at 300%+ efficiency.
